Coaching defined
The term “Coaching” means different things to different people depending on who they are, what they are doing and what their experience of coaching is. Basically, coaching is a conversation between two people, the coach and the client, where the coach guides and facilitates the client’s progress towards defined goals. As one client put it “Coaching helps me to define where I want to go and gets me there faster and more easily than if I worked on my own”.
People seek coaching from all backgrounds and for a whole host of reasons, but they have one thing in common - their desire and readiness to make a change in their lives. Perhaps they have heard the famous quote “If you always do what you’ve always done, you’ll always get what you’ve always got”. Whatever their reason, they have taken an important step towards increased self-awareness and personal effectiveness.

Career Coaching
This relates to anything to do with work. You may be unemployed, employed, self-employed, facing redundancy, starting out on your career or returning to work after a break. You may feel stuck, unfulfilled, uncertain about your future, confused about the best direction to take, or you may have a very clear aim, but be frustrated or disappointed by your lack of progress. You may be in a job that feels like a compromise – parts of it are rewarding, but other parts leave you feeling unsatisfied. If this is the case, Career Coaching can help you to get more out of your current position or help you decide to move on.
Career coaching will give you the opportunity to become much more self-aware, a vital stage in achieving a fulfilling future, and to identify exactly what you really want and how to successfully achieve it. It will help you to discover and clarify your values and strengths, uncover any limiting beliefs you may have that are holding you back, explore your options, identify the most effective steps forward and keep you on track.

Confidence Coaching
Confidence is defined as “trust in” or “reliance upon”. Self-confident people are generally more positive - they trust in, or rely upon, themselves. They are self-assured and believe they have the ability to become, achieve or acquire whatever they want.
Your level of confidence can show itself in many ways: your body language, how you speak, what you say etc. The good news is that self-confidence can be built, just as long as you have the focus and determination to work on it.
Confidence coaching helps you to understand what is holding you back from being the self-assured person you want to be. You will explore your values and beliefs, identify your skills and strengths and work on overcoming any fears or unhelpful thinking, replacing them with empowering new insight and self-belief.
When, where, how?
Coaching is usually by telephone on a weekly basis, although face-to-face coaching is also available and alternative timings can be arranged to suit your needs.
Sessions last for an hour, with the first session lasting one and a half hours (at no additional cost) to allow plenty of time to explore where you are now in relation to where you want to be, to identify your priorities from coaching and to answer any further questions you may have before we get started. Most clients find that a block of at least 6 sessions is the best option to maximise the benefit from coaching and to achieve significant, lasting change in their personal or working lives.
